The last time the lingerie giant, Victoria’s Secret, owned by Columbus-based Limited Brands Inc., ran an ad during Super Bowl was in 1999, during the infancy of the company’s Web site. Executives didn’t need to wait for store receipts to see the impact of the ad, which touted an online preview of its annual fashion show. Chief Marketing Officer Jill Beraud said an estimated 1.5 million viewers leapt from their sofas and logged on to the site, crashing the company’s six-month-old computer server and driving heavy traffic to the site afterward.
After 10 years they will try again in 2008. I am looking forward for their reports … are the people reacting in the same way as in ’99 ? Everybody will run at computer to type a WEB ADDRESS ? We will see …
