Dragos asked me for some words about CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) in Romania. First, i put myself some questions about this CSR …
When i first heard this term ? Hmm … Maybe 5 years before, so thats pretty new
Where i met the first person doing CSR plans in one company ? At Ozone Laboratories doing some specs for the website
When CSR became a familiar term for me ? During the MBA we had some approaches on this subject
When i knew it’s on good hands ? When Selenis started to communicate in Internet this matter.
So … the questions:
1. Care au fost, din punctul tau de vedere, cele mai responsabile trei companii in 2007, si de ce?

I liked most the Petrom campaign and i think is memorable because started to the end of year. Also i liked Apa Nova campaign and … maybe Orange or Vodafone, i don’t know if it was orange or red.
2. Ce te-a nemultumit referitor la cum au inteles companiile din Romania sa demonstreze ca sunt responsabile social, in 2007?
( 2. Your complaints about the way companies understood CSR )
Let’s say we have 200 companies wanting to invest in CSR. For every company to prove that is really involved, investing money and time, it’s necessary at least one man with vision. One specialist. And a team able to carry on the program. We don’t have in Romania so many specialists and i think it’s not about the companies … behind are still people and their ideas make CSR programs good or bad. So i don’t have complaints at company level but at people level.
3. Ce te astepti de la companiile care activeaza in Romania, din punctul de vedere al responsabilitatii sociale, in 2008?
( 3. What do you expect from CSR view in 2008 ?)
I expect companies to believe a little in what they are doing. I expect to be honest and fair. Even the campaigns are social or improve the medium, I expect them to involve more people talk, spread the news, public discussions . Because if Dragos didn’t ask me about this topic, for sure I wouldn’t write about it. Perhaps just like conversation over coffee …
